Gloucester Cathedral will live stream the following services during Advent and Christmas:
• Sunday Eucharist: 15 December and 22 December, 10.15am
• Cathedral Carol Service: Monday 23 December, 6pm
A special pre-recorded Christmas Day Service will be available to watch on Wednesday 25 December from 10am.
Please note: there will be no live stream of the Sunday Eucharist on 29 December.
8.00am: Holy Communion, Lady Chapel Join us for the Book of Common Prayer service of Holy Communion in the beautiful surroundings of the Lady Chapel.
8.30am: Morning Prayer, Zoom On Sundays, Morning Prayer is held on Zoom. This is a short service, led by a member of the clergy, and offers a chance to come together for reflection and prayer ahead of the day. 10.15am: The Eucharist, Nave This is our main Sunday morning service and is a celebration of The Eucharist, often called Holy Communion, instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper. It takes place in the Nave of the Cathedral every week. In this service we hear and respond to readings from the Bible and then take, bless and share bread and wine, following Jesus’ command to do this in remembrance of Him. This service is live-streamed every week so that you can join us from wherever you are in the world. Click here to view the order of service for this week and to join the live-stream.
3.00pm: Evensong, Quire On Sundays, Evensong takes place in the Quire at 3pm. This service is focused on the singing of texts taken directly from the Bible, in addition to hearing the Bible reading and prayers. The service is usually sung by one of the Cathedral Choirs. On certain Sundays, Evening Prayer will take place instead but please check exact details on the calendar.
8.30am: Morning Prayer, Thomas Chapel Morning Prayer takes place in the Thomas Chapel at 8.30am between Monday and Saturday, and is a short service to begin each day.
12.30pm: Holy Communion, Lady Chapel From Monday to Saturday, Holy Communion takes place at 12.30pm in the beautiful Lady Chapel of Gloucester Cathedral. This is a short service (under 30 minutes) where members of the congregation are invited to come together to pray and share in the Eucharist.
5.30pm: Evensong (or Evening Prayer), Quire Choral Evensong takes place at 5.30pm on Monday to Friday and then at 4.30pm on Saturday, and it will usually be sung by one of our Cathedral Choirs. The service lasts about 45 minutes.
On some days Evening Prayer will take place instead but please check exact details on the calendar.

First Tuesday of the month, 12noon (hybrid: Zoom or St John the Baptist)
On the first Tuesday of the month, we come together to reflect and pray for the safety of all and for peace across the world. The prayer intentions focus on social responsibility issues, drawing on the Cathedral’s four priorities in this area:
- Homeless and vulnerable young people
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Young people
- Environmental sustainability
The prayers are offered in the St John the Baptist Chapel, but if you would like to join remotely via Zoom, please email reception@gloucestercathedral.org.uk for the Zoom link.
