The St Benedict's Singers

An ambitious choir for children in school years 4-9 looking to take the next step in their musical development, to perform regularly and benefit from outstanding musical training.

Discover the joy of singing. Build confidence. Make new friends and perform at Gloucester Cathedral.

Open to those with singing experience and those who simply love music, The St. Benedict’s Singers gives young musical children from all backgrounds the opportunity to develop their voices and musicianship, grow in confidence and experience the joy and excitement of singing together.

A place to grow as a singer - and a person

Our young singers develop their musicianship and performance skills in a supportive and professional environment. As part of their training, they build confidence, resilience, teamwork and communication skills, which serve them well in their wider lives.

They have the opportunity to:

  • develop vocal skills through expert musical training

  • build confidence by performing regularly

  • sing in a truly spectacular setting at Gloucester Cathedral

  • take part in major services and special events

  • collaborate with other young singers who share a love of music

Rehearsals and performances

Being part of the choir is a commitment, but it’s one that comes with plenty of fun, friendship and exciting opportunities.

Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings during term time, with Cathedral performances on Thursdays, as well as a range of opportunities to perform at high-profile events throughout the year.
