Gloucester Cathedral Organ Festival

June, July and September 2026

Three of the Gloucester Cathedral Organ Festival events have been rescheduled (note, the Gloucestershire Cantata date remains the same). Rather than a weekend of events, there will now be a series of events across June, July and September.

This decision enables us to give our newly installed organ additional time after its completion to settle, undergo final tuning and refinement ahead of its celebration - so that you can experience it at its very best.

If you’ve already purchased tickets and cannot make the rescheduled dates, please read our FAQs to understand your options.

Creating Musical Partnerships and Unlocking Musical Potential

A landmark moment for Gloucester Cathedral - the unveiling of our magnificent new organ in a celebration of music for all. The Gloucester Cathedral Organ Festival will showcase the extraordinary capabilities of the new instrument.

Featuring leading international organists, a gala concert and recital, and a special workshop, you are welcome to join us for this spectacular occasion.

Highlights of the weekend include:

A gala concert on Saturday evening with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and internationally renowned soloist Thomas Trotter (programme to include works from Joseph Jongen and Camille Saint-Saëns).

On Sunday families are warmly invited to a joyful concert featuring a newly commissioned song cycle by Lin Marsh, performed by local schools and children from our Singing Academy.

Sunday evening, audiences can attend an organ recital with the exceptional Wayne Marshall, followed by a masterclass for organ students on Monday.

Booking required for most events.
