Gloucester Cathedral warmly invites everyone to join its services and events this Easter, celebrating the message of light and hope for all. From quiet reflection to joyful celebrations, there is something for everyone at Gloucester Cathedral this season.

There will be a packed programme of worship, music, family-friendly activities and events taking place at the Cathedral this Easter.

Gloucester Cathedral is looking forward to welcoming the Reverend Chris Smaling as our Guest Preacher for Holy Week. He is Headteacher of Hatton Special School and Associate Priest at St Giles-in-the-Fields in London's West End.

Reverend Chris Smaling Biography:
Fr Chris is Headteacher of Hatton Special School in East London, a large, inclusive primary special school for almost 200 pupils with complex needs. He is also Associate Priest of St Giles in the Fields, in the West End of London, a growing and diverse congregation, rooted in the Prayer Book tradition. Born and raised in Mirfield, Yorkshire, Fr Chris read biology at the University of Bath, before undertaking teacher training. He then qualified in Special Educational Needs. Ordained in 2014, Fr Chris served as curate then Associate Priest of St Gabriel’s Aldersbrook before moving to St Giles in 2021.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.

    Cycling is a great way to get around Gloucester - the city is easy to explore on two wheels.
