St George's Singers Concert

We're delighted that St George's Singers will be giving a concert in the Nave of the Cathedral as part of their 'Three Cathedrals Tour 2023'. The programme features pieces such as Parry's 'I Was Glad' and Wesley's 'Thou Wilt Keep Him In Perfect Peace'. What better way to spend a Monday lunch time than coming to listen to spectacular music in the surroundings to match?

The concert is free to attend with no advance booking required, and all are warmly welcome. There will be a retiring collection.

About St George's Singers:

St George’s Singers was formed in Poynton, Cheshire in 1956 with 23 founding members drawn from the local community. Today, the Choir has over 100 members who travel from Cheshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, and is widely recognised as one of the most enterprising and innovative choirs in the North of England.

Under Musical Director Neil Taylor, the Choir performs an extensive repertoire that covers baroque, classical, jazz, modern and newly commissioned choral works. Concert venues include the Bridgewater Hall, Gorton Monastery, Manchester Cathedral and the Royal Northern College of Music. The Choir sings with world-class soloists and orchestras, and tours regularly in the UK and overseas.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.
