Platinum Jubilee Chimes

Wednesday 1 June - Saturday 4 June

To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, the Cathedral carillon will be playing some iconic, patriotic tunes between Wednesday 1 June and Saturday 4 June.

Listen out for classics such as Rule Britannia, The Londonderry Air, Men of Harlech, the Skye Boat Song and Greensleeves, representing Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England. This medley is inspired by the Round Britain medley, which played at the start of the day on BBC Radio 4 between 1973-2006. It was arranged by Fritz Spiegl, and featured tunes relating to each part of the United Kingdom, together with some maritime themes.

You'll be able to hear the medley at the following times:

Wednesday: 5pm

Thursday: 9am, 1pm, 5pm

Friday: 9am, 1pm, 5pm

Saturday: 9am, 1pm, 4pm

There will also be a series of popular tunes to coincide with the Teddy Bears' Picnic on Wednesday 1 June, and some special tunes at 6.30pm at the end of the Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving on Monday 6 June.

We hope you enjoy listening!
