Lecture: Edward Jenner's Legacy

We're delighted to welcome Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, for this special talk to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the death of Gloucestershire-born Edward Jenner.

Here, Professor Chris Whitty will discuss Jenner’s legacy and the wider impact that vaccines have had on global health, using a range of examples from the last 200 years. The Revd Steve Godsell, Priest in Charge at Berkeley Benefice, will act as compere.

This talk will be aimed at those with a particular interest in science, medicine and healthcare, but all are very welcome.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.
