Explore the Heritage Hub garden!

On Saturday 25 June, our friends at Gloucestershire Heritage Hub are taking part in a special 'Open Garden' initiative

If you missed out on festivities over the Jubilee weekend or simply want to carry on enjoying yourselves in a garden setting with cake, staff at Gloucestershire Archives, custodians of the diocesan records, may be able to help! They are busy putting the finishing touches to a programme of special themed events to take place, on Saturdays, once a month, at the Heritage Hub.

Their first event is on Saturday 25 June and is part of the Kingsholm & Wotton Neighbourhood Partnership’s “Open Garden” day.  Come and visit the Heritage Hub’s beautiful community garden – a hidden gem in the middle of our bustling city, where you can relax and enjoy the expert planting and garden artwork, peek at the pond to try and spot the often-elusive newts and, from a safe distance, watch the honeybees do their work.

There will be family friendly garden games & activities, a digital display of royalty themed documents from Gloucestershire Archives’ collections and experts from Gloucestershire Family History Society on hand to help with your family history.  The event runs from 11am-4pm and there will be free refreshments.
