HR Advisor (Diocese)

The Diocese of Gloucester is looking for an Administrator to join its friendly team

Part-Time, 21 hours per week
12 Month Fixed Term, 1 year fixed term.

Hybrid working is available, office based in Gloucester

Salary Band 5 £19,059 – £20,734 (actual) | £31,766 – £34,558 FTE per annum depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer to join our HR Team, providing first-line HR support across the organisation.

Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor, you will support managers and staff with day-to-day HR matters, ensuring policies are applied consistently and in line with UK employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR advice to manager and staff

• Coordinate recruitment and onboarding

• Prepare contracts and HR documentation

• Maintain accurate HR records and support payroll processes

• Support disciplinary, grievance and absence processes

• Assist with policy updates, training coordination and compliance

About You

• Experience providing generalist HR advice

• Confident supporting employee relations casework

• Strong understanding of UK employment law

• Organised, discreet and able to manage a varied workload

• CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) desirable

You will be approachable, collaborative and sympathetic to the Christian mission and values of the Church of England. You do not need to be a practising Christian.
