Your Cathedral at Night

Saturday 14 May 2022

You’re invited to come and explore your Cathedral after dark and experience this remarkable medieval building like never before. Bring your family and friends along – all are welcome.

There will be candlelight, wonderful choral music, storytelling, and spaces for reflection and prayer. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore some of our off-show spaces (ticket required); discover astrology in the library, see the city at night from the top of the tower, visit the candlelit crypt, and explore where Harry Potter was filmed in a new light. Tickets for tours will be available to book on a first come, first served basis on the night. Please note there is no level access to the tower, library or crypt.

The Monk's Kitchen will be open 7pm-9.30pm serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and snacks. Pick up a souvenir of your visit or a unique gift for a loved one in the Gift Shop, also open 7pm-9.30pm.

There is no charge for this event, but donations are gratefully received. Visitors are encouraged to book entry timeslots in advance, but walk-ups will also be welcome.

This event is run in partnership with the Association of English Cathedrals.
