Library Tour and Tea Package

Located up a winding spiral staircase, the medieval library at Gloucester Cathedral contains a wonderful collection of books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century.

Join us on one of the dates below for a rare opportunity to take a peek inside, to hear about the history of our Library and explore the medieval items in the collection. After your library tour you will be treated to a lovely tea in the Monks' Kitchen where you can continue to chat to your fellow library visitors and one of our knowledgeable guides.

Please note:
· Library Tours last around 60 minutes
· Choice of savoury or cream tea - please indicate as you book.
· Library Tours involve climbing 38 spiral steps.

Booking essential. Bookings will close 7 days before the date of the event. As this includes catered food, we are unable to offer tickets for sale on the day, but any additional tickets may be available to book by ringing the Cathedral on 01452 528095.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.

    Cycling is a great way to get around Gloucester - the city is easy to explore on two wheels.
