Gloucester Cathedral to be part of new Pride of Gloucestershire Trail
For immediate release:
Gloucester Cathedral to be part of new Pride of Gloucestershire Trail next summer.
Gloucester Cathedral will form part of a new trail coming next summer 2025, taking place across the county. It forms part of the county's first ever Wild in Art Sculpture Trail.
The trail will see over 30 lion sculptures, designed by local artists displayed across Cheltenham and Gloucester. The trail, named Lions at Large, aims to showcase the county’s vibrant heritage, culture, and diversity, aiming to bring the community together. Lions at Large will raise funds for proposed new cancer care facilities in Cheltenham with digital consulting rooms, space for state-of-the-art research, as well as a therapeutic outside space. .
The Very Reverend Andrew Zihni, Dean of Gloucester, said:
"We are thrilled to support this exciting initiative, celebrating all that our county has to offer while supporting the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity. We look forward to seeing the community come together through this colourful trail.”
Carrie Smith, Project Manager at Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Gloucester Cathedral for joining us as a sponsor. Their commitment to bringing people together and celebrating Gloucestershire’s rich heritage is truly inspiring. As a cherished landmark that stands as a symbol of unity, their support highlights the importance of community in driving positive change. We are thrilled to have them as part of the trail and look forward to seeing the inspiration it brings to our county.”
