Good Friday 18 April, 7.00pm
Bach’s St John Passion is one of the most famous and dramatic choral pieces ever written.
This haunting piece of music was originally written to be performed by Bach’s Church Choir in Leipzig on Good Friday, 7 April 1724 and describes the last hours of Jesus’ life. It concentrates the mind on the realities of the Passion story in a unique way.
Sung by the Cathedral Choir and accompanied by the Musical and Amicable Society Orchestra in the spectacular surroundings of Gloucester Cathedral, this is an event not to be missed.
