CathedrALE at Gloucester Cathedral

Introducing our collaboration beer with Gloucester Brewery

Gloucester Cathedral has teamed up with Gloucester Brewery to launch CathedrALE – a new collaboration beer inspired by centuries of monastic tradition.

For generations, beer was part of daily life for monks, brewed and enjoyed in accordance with the Rule of Saint Benedict. CathedrALE draws on that rich heritage.

Purchase your can from the Cathedral Gift Shop or from The Monk's Kitchen and raise a glass to your Cathedral!

Sales to over 18’s only. Proof of age required.
Session Indian Pale Ale. 4.5% alcohol
Tasting notes: hazy + zesty + tropical
Each can costs £4.50

In addition to celebrating this unique collaboration, 10% of proceeds from every can sold will support the Cathedral’s Cloister Project – helping conserve Gloucester Cathedral’s internationally-celebrated 14th-century Cloister.

Known for its stunning fan vaulting – considered the finest in the world – the Cloister has featured in Harry Potter, Wolf Hall and more, and remains one of the Cathedral’s most iconic and historically significant spaces.
