6 February, 6 March, 3 April, 1 May and 5 June from 10am-12.30pm, with a final joint session on 24 July from 11.30-4pm.
This course is aimed at those with a beginner level of interest in architecture or those who have a passion to learn about our Cathedral.
The course will cover topics including, but not limited to:
Introduction to Norman architecture, including a tour of the Crypt
Introduction to Early English and Decorated Architecture
Visit to Gloucester Cathedral's Lady Chapel
Introduction to Perpendicular Architecture, with a close look at the Quire and East Window
Learn about the Cathedral's magnificent Cloisters and (optionally) climb the 269 steps to the top of the tower
Visit our Mason's yard, and see their work up close with the opportunity to ask questions
The course price includes tea/coffee, as well as lunch at the final joint session.
NB: it is not possible to swap between the morning and afternoon sessions, and courses will not run without a minimum of 7 participants per session.
