This summer, Gloucester Cathedral is teaming up with Gloucester Brewery to launch CathedrALE – a brand-new beer inspired by centuries of monastic tradition.

For generations, beer was part of daily life for monks, brewed and enjoyed in accordance with the Rule of Saint Benedict. CathedrALE draws on that rich heritage.

In addition to celebrating this unique collaboration, 10% of proceeds from every can sold will support the Cathedral’s Cloister Project – helping conserve Gloucester Cathedral’s internationally-celebrated 14th-century Cloister. Known for its stunning fan vaulting – considered the finest in the world – the Cloister has featured in Harry Potter, Wolf Hall and more, and remains one of the Cathedral’s most iconic and historically significant spaces.
