Cathedral decorated for Christmas

9 December 2023 - 6 January 2024

From 9 December, the Cathedral building will be adorned with stunning decorations. Expect giant trees in the Nave and the Quire, as well as the return of the ‘Knitivity’ featuring lovable figures created by local community groups. The iconic Cloisters will also be decorated from top to bottom, with each area following a new theme for 2023.

Come and see this remarkable spectacle any time within usual Cathedral opening hours for the ultimate festive day out. Entry to the Cathedral is by voluntary donation.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.
