Advent Course: Journeying with Mary (In Person)

Wednesday 4, 11 & 18 December

All are warmly welcome this Advent to step into Mary’s journey of awaiting the birth of Jesus, as told by St Luke and illustrated by some of the world’s most talented artists. Set in the context of community and prayer over three weeks, we will await together the coming of Jesus and reflect on what this means for our daily lives in 2024. We will engage with scripture through the Benedictine practice of Lectio Divina and continue our meditation by reflecting on pieces of art. Choose from attending:

In Person
Wednesdays (4, 11 and 18 December). We begin with the option of Eucharist at 12.30pm in the Cathedral, followed by lunch together (please bring a packed lunch) at 1pm in the Ground Floor Committee Room in Church House. The main session will follow on from lunch in the same venue at 1.30pm

or Online
Tuesdays (3, 10 and 17 December) on Zoom at 7.30 pm followed by Compline at 8.30pm.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.

    Cycling is a great way to get around Gloucester - the city is easy to explore on two wheels.
