Evening Organ Recital with James Mitchell

Wednesday 28 June, 7.30pm

All are warmly welcome to join us for the next Evening Organ Recital in our series. This recital will be given by the Cathedral's talented Sub-Organist, James Mitchell.

During the recital, James will play the world premiere piece by Courtney Swain called 'In Memoriam'. Courtney has recorded vocal samples of a poem she wrote herself - a tribute to a friend who recently passed away - and, using our digital organ setup, James has combined these samples with normal organ sounds to create a truly beautiful, mesmerising result.

Part of the piece can be heard here.

Admission is free with a retiring collection in aid of Cathedral music, but we ask that you register your attendance in advance by clicking on the 'Book Now' button to the right of this page.
