Our beautiful decorations shine their brightest at night! Experience the festive charm of Gloucester Cathedral after dark at these special evening events. Enjoy live performances from Cathedral musicians and friends, with a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate from The Monk's Kitchen, which will be open throughout the evening.

Don't forget to visit the Cathedral Gift Shop for some last-minute Christmas shopping!

Make your Christmas Experience at Night extra special with an 'unwrapped' ticket...

'Unwrapped' tickets give the unique opportunity to peek behind-the-scenes of this remarkable building, with access to either the iconic Cathedral Tower or the candlelit medieval Library.

Tower unwrapped: Adults £20, Child (6-17 years) £10

Library unwrapped: Adults £12, Child (6-17 years) £6

To allow as many visitors as possible to enjoy these experiences, it is not possible to purchase a ticket that includes both the library and the tower.

'Cathedral Unwrapped' tickets include general entry to the event - you do not need to purchase a separate entry timeslot if you have purchased a 'Cathedral Unwrapped' ticket. A ticket for general entry does not include access to the Library or Tower.

Please note that both the Library and the Tower only accessible via spiral staircase, so unfortunately are not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Cathedral Dogs Policy:
Please note only assistance dogs are permitted at the Cathedral Christmas at Night Experience. Dogs are welcome to enjoy the decorations during the day in line with our Dogs Policy.

    The Cathedral is located in the historic heart of Gloucester and our spectacular tower can be seen from many spots in and around the city.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.

    Cycling is a great way to get around Gloucester - the city is easy to explore on two wheels.
