Saturday 12 September, 7pm
The Gloucester Cathedral Organ Festival programme has been rescheduled*. As such, this Gala Concert event has been moved from 13 June 2026 to 12 September 2026.
This decision enables us to give our newly installed organ additional time after its completion to settle, undergo final tuning and refinement ahead of its celebration - so that you can experience it at its very best.
We're pleased that the rescheduled dates will allow the majority of originally planned artists and partners to take part.
If you’ve already purchased tickets and cannot make the rescheduled dates, please read our FAQs to understand your options.
At the heart of Gloucester Cathedral's Organ Festival weekend is the landmark gala performance with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Adrian Partington, Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral.
Programme
Gigout (arr. Ropartz) – Grande Choeur Dialogué
Jongen – Symphonie Concertante
Saint-Saëns – Symphony No. 3 in C minor (“Organ Symphony”)
From the brilliance of Gigout to the grandeur of Saint-Saëns’ “Organ Symphony”, this is orchestral and organ music at its most thrilling — a fitting showcase for a magnificent new instrument.
