Good Friday 3 April 2026, 7pm
Bach’s St John Passion is one of the most dramatic and powerful choral works ever written.
On Good Friday, 3 April 2026, the Cathedral Choir performs this profound masterpiece in the awe-inspiring setting of Gloucester Cathedral, accompanied by the acclaimed period-instrument ensemble La Serenissima.
First heard on Good Friday in 1724, when it was sung by Bach’s church choir in Leipzig, the St John Passion portrays the final hours of Jesus’ life with striking intensity. The work draws listeners into the Passion story in a uniquely direct and moving way.
An unforgettable Holy Week performance in Gloucester Cathedral.
Funds from ticket sales will go directly to support the Cathedral’s In Tune Music & Organ campaign.
