Poppy Fields by Luxmuralis

Friday 17 October - Saturday 25 October

This autumn, Poppy Fields will transform the beautiful setting of Gloucester Cathedral into a captivating display of light and sound.

This immersive installation marks the much-anticipated return of Luxmuralis to the Cathedral, following the sell-out success of Light Eternal in 2023 and reflects on the sacrifices of the First and Second World Wars, offering a message of peace and hope for the future. As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and approach the season of Remembrance, this moving experience invites you to pause, reflect and remember.

Brought to life through moving imagery and recorded poetry narrated by Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne, Poppy Fields offers a moment of stillness in one of Britain’s most beautiful sacred spaces. Created by the world-renowned projection art gallery, Luxmuralis.

Gloucester Cathedral is pleased to welcome the Royal British Legion to Poppy Fields. Each evening, visitors will have the opportunity to make a donation for a poppy in support of the upcoming Remembrance season. The Royal British Legion’s commitment to Remembrance resonates with the themes explored in the show.
