Visitors will have the chance to see Luke Jerram's spectacular seven metre sculpture of Mars up close in the Cathedral Nave, in the surroundings of our stunning dramatic space. The artwork features detailed NASA imagery of the Martian surface and is on rotation.

“We are looking forward to hosting the Mars: War and Peace artwork by Luke Jerram this autumn. As this timely exhibition graces our sacred space, it not only reminds us of the beauty and mystery of God’s universe, but also provides us with the opportunity to reflect on the enduring hope for peace.

We look forward to welcoming you to Mars: War and Peace at Gloucester Cathedral and hope you enjoy your visit.” - Very Reverend Andrew Zihni, Dean of Gloucester

Plan your visit during day-time Cathedral opening hours to explore the installation at your leisure. There is no booking required to view the artwork during the day. Entry is by voluntary donation.

Please note that there may be queues at busy times. Please be patient and come dressed for the weather when queuing outdoors.
