Installation of Canon Precentor and Director of Congregational Development

Saturday 13 January 2024, 4.00pm

Gloucester Cathedral is delighted to share that The Revd Craig Huxley-Jones will be collated and installed as Canon Precentor and Director of Congregational Development at 4pm on Saturday 13 January 2024. This is a public service which all are warmly welcome to attend, with no tickets required.

The Very Reverend Andrew Zihni, Dean of Gloucester, said:

 

“I am delighted that The Revd Craig Huxley-Jones, the Cathedral’s new Canon Precentor and Director of Congregational Development, will be installed at 4pm on Saturday 13 January 2024. Canon Craig will play a key role in the musical life of the Cathedral and in leading our community deeper into worship and spirituality, so we are much looking forward to his arrival in January together with his wife, Sarah, and their two children. All are most welcome to join us at the Service of Installation; I know the Cathedral community will give Canon Craig and his family the warmest of welcomes.”

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.
