First Aid for Families & Children

In this 3 hour workshop, our qualified first aid instructor will teach you all you need to know to help your family in an emergency. This course will cover how to provide first aid to children aged 4-10 years. Come alone, or bring the whole family!

You will learn how to:

  • Dress wounds

  • Care for sprains and breaks

  • Look after burns

  • Help a choking child

  • The recovery position

  • How to perform CPR on a child

The workshop will take place in the beautiful medieval Chapter House at Gloucester Cathedral. Level access throughout.

Tickets are £5 per family group*. Please select under 'extras' the number of people in your group.
Children with tickets must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult aged 19 years+.
Bookings will close 24 hours before the time of the event.

This course is being delivered in partnership with Adult Education, to take part in the course you will be asked to fill in a registration form at the beginning of the session.

*You may eligible for a free ticket if you are over the age of 19 and a UK/EEU resident in the last 3 years and one of the following: Unemployed/earning below £20,000 /retired; Learning disability; Mental health difficulty; qualified below a level 2 (less than 5 GCSES).

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.

    Cycling is a great way to get around Gloucester - the city is easy to explore on two wheels.
