Bat walk at Gloucester Cathedral

Thursday 30 May, 8.45pm

Experience the opportunity to learn about and view bats around the Cathedral and city grounds on this bat walk.

Led by Dr Richard Rolfe, of the University of Gloucestershire and the Gloucestershire Bat Group, the event will include a briefing on bats and bat detection.

The walk will begin around sunset. Warm clothes are advised and torch/head torch would be useful but not mandatory. This event will be outside, and will involve walking around the cathedral grounds, and city.

Tickets: £3
Meet at: 8.45pm
The walk is expected to last 60-90minutes depending on bat activity.

This event is weather Dependent, in case of cancellation due to bad weather, all tickets will be refunded or rearranged. Any additional donations are non-refundable.

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.
