A service for the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin (live-stream only)

70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin

Sunday 25 April 1.00pm

Join us online for a special live-streamed event on Sunday 25 April at 1.00pm. The Right Reverend Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester,  will lead a short private service in the Memorial Chapel that will commemorate the lives of the men who were killed in the Korean War. This weekend marks the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin when soldiers from the Gloucestershire Regiment fought beside comrades within 29th Independent Brigade and the United Nations. As the Glosters were progressively cut-off they remained an effective fighting unit in the face of almost continual onslaughts from an invading army.

The service is the first in a series of events across the summer that will commemorate the battle and celebrate the ensuing friendship between our two countries.

The live-stream of the service will appear here a few minutes before it is due to begin. The Order of Service may be found here.
