Gloucester Cathedral is known for its warm welcome and an essential part of that is the role of our volunteer Welcomers. During our core opening hours the main entrance is manned by volunteers whose job it is to greet all visitors to the Cathedral, to provide information and deal with queries.

If you enjoy talking to people and interacting with a wide variety of members of the public this could be the volunteer role for you.

'As a Cathedral welcomer I feel that to be able to welcome everyone from around the world and make sure they fully enjoy every aspect of Gloucester Cathedral is very rewarding.'

MM - Welcomer

'We are fortunate in having this important and beautiful building with so much history effectively, on our doorsteps. It’s fun to welcome visitors and see them echo your own interest and fascination with the history and the beauty of the cathedral.'
