Our Cathedral Guides have all under taken extensive training and are required to go through a stringent assessment process before they can practice as guides. This means that they are all experts in the history and architecture of the Cathedral and the quality of tours offered is very high.

Guides are also trained in how to present the Cathedral’s history in an engaging way and to tailor their approach depending on the interests of the group.

If you think you’ve got what it takes and can bring the enthusiasm and effort required to undertake the training, you will find this an extremely rewarding and enjoyable volunteering role.

'I volunteer at Gloucester Cathedral firstly because I love the place. I want to learn all I can about it and share that information with as many visitors as I can which is why I became a Cathedral guide.' - MM Cathedral Guide

'I just wanted to say how much my sister and I enjoyed our fascinating guided tour. It was extremely interesting and informative and was certainly the highlight of our day-trip to Gloucester.'  - PB visitor
