Environmental Sustainability

Inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Gloucester Cathedral seeks to be ‘in tune with heaven and in touch with daily life’. As a place of worship for over 1,000 years we are committed to long term sustainability: Environmental Sustainability is one of four Social Responsibility priorities we are currently taking forward.

The Cathedral is committed to:

  • Promoting awareness of the climate emergency and what we can all do to respond
  • Reducing its own carbon footprint
  • Working with others to complement and expand the impact of individual efforts in achieving a sustainable future
