Supporting the homeless and vulnerable is core to our values, our vision and mission and is realised through our Social Responsibility work. The challenges of Covid-19 and resulting restrictions have required different ways of working to help us build on our existing successes, but not without times of frustration and sadness that we can’t do more.

We are delighted that our Breakfast Club provision continues to run every Thursday and Sunday morning.  The dedicated volunteer team serve takeaway bacon rolls and hot drinks, utilising our outdoor spaces to ensure guests can observe social distancing when queuing, whilst still receiving a warm Cathedral welcome.

  • Breakfast Club runs on Thursday and Sunday at 7.30am-8.30am

  • Guests are asked to convene at the West end steps of the Cathedral where a queuing system is set up. 

  • We ask guests to wear face masks whenever possible and observe social distancing.

£5 per person for the whole course

This course takes you through a series of structured steps to build up your confidence in drawing. Each week will begin with some fun drawing games and activities followed by a structured drawing session that will take you step by step through creating a drawing. The sessions will give you a chance to draw, to learn with others and time to relax. All the activities will help support your wellbeing and you can repeat them easily on your own.

Led by community artist and tutor Jo Teague, aimed at beginner level learners.

The prayer intentions focus on social responsibility issues, drawing on the Cathedral’s four priorities in this area: homeless and vulnerable people; mental health and wellbeing; young people; and environmental sustainability.

Tuesday 20 April, 5.30pm

All are invited to join us online for a special commemorative Evensong service for His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. This will be held in partnership with the Diocese of Gloucester and Gloucestershire Lieutenancy, and it will be live-streamed only. Representatives of the County will take part and the Blessing will be given by Bishop Rachel.

13:0070th Anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin Service

70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin - Live-streamed only

Sunday 25 April 1.00pm

Join us on-line for a special live-streamed event on Sunday 25 April at 1pm. The Right Reverend Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester,  will lead a short private service in the Memorial Chapel that will commemorate the lives of the men who were killed in the Korean War. This weekend marks the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin when soldiers from the Gloucestershire Regiment fought beside comrades within 29th Independent Brigade and the United Nations. As the Glosters were progressively cut-off they remained an effective fighting unit in the face of almost continual onslaughts from an invading army. 

The service is the first in a series of events across the summer that will commemorate the battle and celebrate the ensuing friendship between our two countries.

Breakfast Club

Thursday and Sunday mornings 7.30am

Supporting the homeless and vulnerable is core to our values, our vision and mission and is realised through our Social Responsibility work. The challenges of Covid-19 and resulting restrictions have required different ways of working to help us build on our existing successes, but not without times of frustration and sadness that we can’t do more.

We are delighted that our Breakfast Club provision continues to run every Thursday and Sunday morning.  The dedicated volunteer team serve takeaway bacon rolls and hot drinks, utilising our outdoor spaces to ensure guests can observe social distancing when queuing, whilst still receiving a warm Cathedral welcome.

  • Breakfast Club runs on Thursday and Sunday at 7.30am-8.30am

  • Guests are asked to convene at the West end steps of the Cathedral where a queuing system is set up. 

  • We ask guests to wear face masks whenever possible and observe social distancing.

Drawing for Wellbeing – Beginner’s course

£5 per person for the whole course

This course takes you through a series of structured steps to build up your confidence in drawing. Each week will begin with some fun drawing games and activities followed by a structured drawing session that will take you step by step through creating a drawing. The sessions will give you a chance to draw, to learn with others and time to relax. All the activities will help support your wellbeing and you can repeat them easily on your own.

Led by community artist and tutor Jo Teague, aimed at beginner level learners.
