Information about services in the Cathedral

The weekend of 26/27 September will see the welcome return of choral singing in the cathedral.

Evensong on Saturday 26th September at 4.30pm will be sing by the Lay Clerks and will be followed by the Admission of Choristers to the Old Chorister Association. In addition, this will be our opportunity to say thank-you and farewell to those leaving the choir in summer 2020 and to welcome those who are now been admitted as choristers and to commission our new Head and Deputy Boy and Girl Choristers.

Sunday 27th September will include the Lay Clerks singing at the 10.15am Cathedral Eucharist in the Nave and at the 3pm Evensong service in the Quire. All are welcome. The Sunday morning eucharist will continue to be live streamed weekly on the cathedral website.

We also look forward to the return of Hymns, which will be sung at these Sunday services by the Lay Clerks only.

This pattern on Sundays will continue with the exception of 18th October when the evening service will be at 5.30pm and will be a reflective themed service connected with the Gaia (earth) installation in the Nave.

On 24/25th October The St Cyprians Choir will sing on Sunday morning and with Evensongs on both Saturday and Sunday at 5.30pm.

On 1st November – All Saints- the Lay Clerks will sing at the 10.15am eucharist and at a Requiem Eucharist for All Souls on the same day at 5.30pm.

The All Souls Service will be an important occasion for those who have died this year to be remembered formally in the liturgy and prayers. If you would like the name of  a loved one, family or friend, remembered, please send an email or phone:
