'Light of Hope' - Tower lit red for All Souls

Date: 1st November 2020

'Light of Hope'

The tower of Gloucester Cathedral will light up red from Friday 30 October for the Church of England 'Light of Hope' initiative to mark All Souls’ Day, when churches traditionally remember those who have died in the previous year.

Prayer days, outdoor services and light displays will take place from this weekend in churches and cathedrals across the country as part of an effort to reach tens of thousands of people coping with bereavement amid the coronavirus pandemic with a message of comfort and hope.

The Cathedral Tower will stay lit red after All Souls for Remembrance until Sunday 15 November..
