New Library Tours

A rare chance to visit the Cathedral's beautiful, hidden 15th Century monastic library

Located high above the main body of the Cathedral (you will need to go up 38 spiral steps!) the Cathedral Library Room was originally part of the Abbey and holds a wonderful collection of books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century.

The tour will allow you access to the impressive medieval library. You will have the chance to get up close to rare books and early manuscripts from the Cathedral’s collection. Tours last 30 minutes and cost £3.00 per adult and £1.00 per child. Tickets are available on the day from the gift shop. If you are coming specifically for this tour, please contact us on visits@gloucestercathedral.org.uk.

Volunteers and staff will be on hand to talk about the library and answer any questions.

Dates for upcoming Library Tours can be found on the Calendar.
