Cathedral Scaffolding Tours

A unique opportunity to join a Cathedral Guide on a tour of the scaffolding at the east end of the building. The Cathedral stone masons are undertaking a project to restore the beautiful stonework of the medieval Lady Chapel and this tour will take you behind the scenes of their work. Those  with a head for heights will get unique views of the Cathedral’s roof line and the chance to get up close to stained glass, architectural features and ancient stonework that otherwise could only be admired from way below on the ground.

Specialist Tours with a Cathedral Stone Mason will take place on the following dates:

Friday 18 August, 3.30pm to 5.00pm – SOLD OUT

Friday 25 August, 3.30pm to 5.00pm  – SOLD OUT

Friday 1 September, 3.30pm to 5.00pm - SOLD OUT

Friday 8 September (Heritage Open Day free tours at 10.30am, 12noon, 1.15pm, and 3pm)  - SOLD OUT

Friday 22 September, 3.30pm to 5.00pm - SOLD OUT

Friday 29 September, 3.30pm to 5.00pm - SOLD OUT

Meet at the west end of the nave (outside of the Cathedral gift Shop).

Tickets are £15 and are available via the box office

Please note: tours are only available for 18 and overs due to taking place at height
