Lighting the Tower Gold Childhood Cancer Awareness

Lighting the Tower Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Friday 1 September - Friday 29 September

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month – Thank you Gloucester Cathedral for Glowing Gold for Childhood Cancer

Understandably, childhood cancer is something that most parents do not want to think about. Thankfully, it is uncommon, but not as rare as you may think. One in every 285 children gets cancer before the age of 20, and it is also the most common medical cause of death in children and young people in the UK.

Grace left a legacy – a wish to help others. Something that we are working to fulfil via the formation of the Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust – working to improve childhood cancer awareness and funding for research. As one of the founder members of the Glow Gold Campaign, it was established to raise awareness of childhood cancer during September through gold illumination of iconic buildings throughout the UK and the world.

The important thing is know the signs and symptoms to look for. Please have a read of our awareness card and share, it really could save a life.

What Can we Do in September to Help?

  •          Could you decorate your shop front or business gold to raise awareness, or light up gold.
  •          Maybe hold a bake sale, collection or do some fundraising (however small it all adds up.)
  •          Have a look at, we will be sharing a lot of   information in September here as well.
