Saturday 27 April, 1pm
Join the Cathedral Music Trust on Saturday 27 April at Gloucester Cathedral for a spring afternoon of music and discovery.
There will be a concert of secular music, mainly a cappella, from The Oriel Singers in the Chapter House including Jonathan Dove's fabulous song cycle, The Passing of the Year. We then hear from Nia Llewelyn Jones, the cathedral choir's Assistant Conductor, about the music in the Cathedral since the girl choristers attained parity with the boys. We're invited to observe the Cathedral Choir's rehearsal – usually a closed affair – before hearing Choral Evensong at 4.30pm.
Concert only tickets are £12. Full gathering tickets are £25, which includes the Oriel Singers' concert, talk and exclusive open rehearsal plus refreshments.
