Admission free with retiring collection in aid of Cathedral Music

Our Recitalist today is Australian born Greg Abrahams who came to Gloucester thirty years ago on holiday and just forgot to return. He is a regular recitalist in the Cathedrals in the West of England having performed in Bristol, Birmingham, Blackburn, Bradford, Coventry and Hereford Cathedrals. He has also performed in Notre Dame in Paris, twice in Westminster Abbey, Washington National Cathedral, Trinity Church in Boston MA, and St Thomas’ Fifth Avenue New York, and Slovakia. Recitals last year included St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral Sydney, Chester Cathedral and Halifax Minster – it was a quiet year. He is currently Organist and Choirmaster at St Michael’s in the village of Bishops Cleeve near Cheltenham.

As well as completing post graduate studies with the Birmingham Conservatoire and holding professional music qualifications, Greg has a Computer Science Degree and is a Chartered Engineer. His last proper job was lecturing in Computer Studies at a University.
