Flower Guild

The Flower Guild was founded in the late 1940s when two people did the flowers and each week there were two arrangements in the Cathedral. Now it consists of 60 members that do eight arrangements each week.

The Flower Guild is run by a small committee of eight people who take it in turns to be in charge of the weekly flower arranging operations which happens on Friday mornings except in Advent and Lent. They are a happy band of volunteers who enjoy beautifying the Cathedral for the Glory of God and the visitors.

The majority of Guild members just enjoy arranging flowers but some of them are more professional and are members of a Flower Club or NAFAS. The Flower Club has three gatherings a year, including an outing to an historic building or garden.

We are always looking for new members so if you arrange flowers in your own home why not get in touch?
