Junior Choir

What is the Junior Choir?

Gloucester Cathedral Junior Choir was re-established in 2014. The children, in school years 2 to 5, enjoy their weekly singing rehearsal, as well as performing in concerts and services.

The choir currently consists of around 50 members, who represent at least 20 schools in the diocese. It is conducted by our Singing Devleopment Leader.

What do they do?

The choir form an integral part of the Cathedral’s worship on the second Sunday of every month. Singing in the Cathedral, with its wonderful acoustic, is an experience which remains with a child throughout his/her life.

The Choir regularly sing elsewhere in the county, and further afield. Recent engagements have included singing with the BBC National Chorus of Wales and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.  The choir regularly go on mini tours to perform at other venues.
